Orals and supplements

Tablets, capsules and supplements are tracked like injections: schedules, reminders, logging, stock, the calendar, estimated levels and the doctor report. They're in the free edition and the iPhone web app too.

Adding one

In Protocol → Setup, tap Add compound and choose Tablet / capsule as the form. Then:

  • Comes as: tablet, capsule, softgel or scoop.
  • Each tablet contains: the amount in one, in mg, mcg, g or IU (IU is for things like vitamin D).
  • Per dose: how much you take each time. The app shows it as tablets, for example 20 mg = 2 tablets.
  • Times a day: once, or twice (morning and night).
  • Supplement: turn this on for everyday supplements such as vitamin D, fish oil or creatine (see below).

There's no syringe, injection site or rotation for orals.

Twice a day

A twice-a-day compound has a morning dose and a night dose, each with its own reminder. The first dose you log in a day counts as the morning one and the second as the night one. A dose logged before 4 am counts for the night before. Once the morning dose is logged, the night one waits: it can be taken 6 hours later, or from 3 hours before your night reminder, so a supplement can't be ticked off twice in one go by mistake.

Supplements

Supplements appear on the Today screen as a short checklist instead of full dose cards. Tap Take next to one, or Take all, to log them in one go. Reminders group them into one line, for example "3 supplements".

Stock

Stock works in bottles (or tubs for scoops) and tablets. Add sealed bottles in the Stock tab with the number of tablets in each; each logged dose takes its tablets off the open bottle. Reorder dates, cost per week and expiry warnings work as they do for vials. See Stock.

Changing the form

Switching a compound between an injection and a tablet resets its stock, because vials (mL) and bottles (tablets) can't be converted. Add the stock again afterwards.
