Keeping one log for a bodybuilding prep
A competition prep changes a lot at once: training, cardio, bodyweight, recovery, and for many competitors, several compounds with doses that change over the weeks. Keeping it all in one record makes it much easier to see what actually happened, and to plan the next one.
Note: Enhanced Training Studio is a record-keeping tool. It doesn't recommend any substance, dose or protocol. Many performance-enhancing substances are prescription-only or illegal to possess without a prescription, in Australia and elsewhere. Follow the law where you live and the advice of your doctor.
What's worth recording
- Everything you take, when you take it. Several compounds at once, each with its own schedule, start date and end date.
- Changes over time. Doses that step up or down on particular dates, and pauses.
- Blood tests before, during and after, each with its date and time.
- Training. Sets, reps and weights, so you can see whether strength is holding through a cut.
- Cardio. Sessions, distance, time and heart rate.
- Bodyweight and recovery. Morning weight, sleep, resting heart rate and HRV, if you wear a watch.
Why one log beats five
Spreadsheets, notes apps, a training app and a watch app each hold part of the picture. When something changes, say your blood pressure, sleep or strength, it's much easier to see what else changed around the same time when everything is on one timeline.
