Free edition
There are two ways to get Enhanced Training Studio:
- Free edition, on GitHub: the injection tracker. Schedules and cycles, reminders, dose logging with the syringe draw, site rotation, vial stock, estimated levels, the doctor report, backups and app lock. Current free version: 1.0.0.
- Licence, from this website: everything in the free edition, plus training (workouts, records, progression, GPS runs), blood tests (PDF import, markers over time, on the levels chart) and health (Health Connect, readiness, weekly report, live heart rate). Updates install with one tap inside the app, and you get email support.
Both editions get every update at the same time, including security fixes. Both keep all your data on your phone.
Installing the free edition
- Open the GitHub page on your phone and go to Releases.
- Download the
.apkfile for the newest release and open it. - Android asks once to allow installs from your browser. Say yes, then tap Install.
The free edition is signed with the same key as the licensed app. You can check this by comparing the signing certificate fingerprint on the download page.
Moving to a licence
Buy a licence, download the licensed app and install it over the free one. Your injections, logs and settings stay where they are. Then enter your licence key under Setup → App settings → Licence, or on the Training, Health or Labs screen.
Going back to the free edition
Install the free edition over the licensed app. Your training, blood test and health data stays on the phone, but the free edition doesn't show it. It's all there again if you move back to a licence.
Note: Android won't install an older version over a newer one. Use a free version with the same or a newer version number.
The source code licence
The free edition's source code is under the Functional Source License 1.1, MIT Future License (FSL-1.1-MIT). In short:
- You can use, read, change and share the code for your own use, and for non-commercial teaching or research.
- You can't use it to offer a competing commercial product or service.
- Each version becomes available under the MIT licence two years after its release.
